Conway Mill, Belfast, belonged to the Falls Flax Spinning Company (1842), owned by James Kennedy & Sons continued trading long after many others folded in Belfast. Alas, it too closed in 1976 and the building succeeded only briefly in encouraging local businesses to thrive and community groups to prosper. A British Secretary of State, however, prevented funding to keep it going.
