About Cross Harbour Bridge Art
Quite strangely located under the Cross Harbour Bridge, this is one art exhibition that needs to be sign-posted as it’s too easy to pass under without noticing. It was created by Peter Rooney in 2004. Not to be missed though, this project is called the Wheels of Progress and must be one of Belfast’s most unusual art arenas. The material used were vinyl graphics and steel with funding coming from Laganside. Old photographs occupy one side of the bridge’s legs across from images of modern passport stamps – quite literally illustrating the passage from the old to the new.
