Belfast St Mary’s Secondary School

Founded on Divis St. in 1866 by the Christian Brothers who came to Belfast in 1866 with a mission to educate the poor in the school that came to be known as 'the ragged school'. Moved into Barrack Street in 1929. By most contemporary standards, the new school was an impressive institution. There are no more Brothers teaching there.
