About Artigianarte

Since 2000, this has been a permanent showcase for local and regional artisans from Emilia Romagna. Established at the foot of the historic Asinelli Tower, it makes a fitting tribute to all those artists who strive to promote the best of this region through their enduring talents and amazing skills.

Artigianarte was set up with the support of CNA Bologna, Bologna 2000 Capital of Culture, the Chamber of Commerce and the Bank of Bologna.

Display cases reveal many intricate and unique pieces of craftsmanship and can appear in various forms such as glass, paintings, sculptures, ceramics, paper and more. There is no particular aim either to a promote a specific craft as this often depends on the artists’ own submission to the shop.

Workshops also take place and there are programmes to collaborate with national organizations to make sure that as many artists as possible benefit from this unique opportunity to present their products to the public.

Sales from these items of course will provide much needed help for artisans to continue working in traditions which are slowly declining or becoming more difficult to uphold due to less importance being awarded to them by general industry.
