Bologna Cicileo Cafe
About Cicileo Cafe
Established in 2005, this little cafe bar lies on Via Parigi, parallel with one of the city’s main streets and shopping areas called Ugo Bassi. It’s a very impressionable place and worthy of a passing visit since – like no other bar – it simply dazzles the eyes on entry. Cicicleo pops out like a Hollywood animated cartoon, with bright and vivid colours dancing around its small interior. There are so many distractions it’s hard to know exactly where to begin looking.
The food on offer is usually based around a ‘pugliese’ cuisine. During apperativo time in the evening the customers pack into this place to partake in the food fest which also includes tiny dehors, beautifully hand-crafted by staff.
The music too, is quite precise. They play funky, jazz and rock which can last into the wee hours.
Most particular of all though, is the bathroom. Through a narrow hallway is probably the strangest toilet in Bologna. It’s even just worth coming here to answer nature’s call while under the influence of a psychedelic experience you may never see again. Flowers, designs, animated disco lights and more confirm that hippies still have a voice in this corner of the world.
