Bologna Irish Times Pub

Established since 1993, this became the first Irish Pub in Bologna. It’s also the only one to have a darts room that host competitions and have their own team in full accordance with the FIGF. There are cubicles for smaller, private groups and most of the furnishings and items on display recall typical Irish traditions.

About Irish Times Pub

On a side street in one of Bologna’s most established party zones is The Irish Times Pub. Founded in 1993, the Irish Times became the symbolic catalyst for what was to come, and eventually led to many more Irish drinking parlours in this small city.

Into the right is one of Bologna’s unique social gaming secrets: a darts room. Considering its one of the cornerstones of Irish and English pubs, then here too, is no different. This is the only Irish Pub to continue this tradition. They have their own teams made up of Irish, English and Italian players, they host competitions and galas and are a member of the Italian darts federation called the F.I.G.F – La Federazione Italiana Gioco Freccette.

As a small reminder where this culture sprung up from there are window displays highlighting antic items and mementos of days gone by in the pub scene. Most of the architecture and designs of the pub were imported from Ireland right down to the furniture and even the staff!

Unlike many others this pub too has private cubicles, typically Irish, making it an ideal place to while away the hours within a close and friendly atmosphere. It’s opened seven days a week from 6.30pm (at least during the autumn/winter seasons).
