Bologna San Bartholemew Basilica
Constructed 1653-84 on the foundations of another 16th century church by “Il Formigine”. St Gaetano’s name was added later. Soft colours and contours lend a harmonious air to its atmosphere. Many artists including Quaini, Francheschini, Rolli brothers, Albani & Massari among others bring it to life with frescoes and statues through the centuries.
