Bologna Santa Maria Lacrimosa degli Alemanni
This church dates from 1540s. Paintings inside are by Bolognese and other artists such as Franceschini, Pizzoli, Canuti and Garofalini. One particular chapel appears too lavish for the rest of the church but is testimony to the great skill of Bibiena. Buried in a crypt is possibly one of the famous Pepoli’s. Next door is a monastery.
