Nestled under the porticoes of Via Santo Stefano is this chic little bar decorated inside like one big continuous window display. It’s merely one of the marvelous characteristics that set this bar apart from all others in this area and probably lend it the unique status of being a wine boutique.
Established since 2008 by Carla Russo, Vino al Vino take particular pride in serving local and regional wines accompanied with typical ‘salumi di zocca’ – an exquisite delicacy which also hails from the near-by Bolognese hills and even as far as Modena.
Not satisfied with serving only refreshments they actually produce their own line of cosmetics from the grapes of pignoletto wine that includes fresh aromas and soap. Biological by-products are taken seriously here as they also sell marmalade, Balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
Furthermore, they offer ‘vino sfuso’, a term to indicate that you may come back later for more and refill your bottle with any of the wines on offer.
In fact, there are many other curious aspects about this place suffice to say that time spent wondering between the beautifully prepared displays and tantalizing presents to consider will not be wasted.
Themed nights are often organized to promote other Bolognese traders and artisans specializing in jewelry and art to name but a few.
The atmosphere is predominantly local with a touch of international clientele, professional and quite cozy. Afterwards, there can be no having mistaken a visit to this stylish lair of Vino al Vino.
