About Montanara Gate
Situated at the end of an ancient road this dates back to the era of Silla. Previously, this double-barreled vaulted gate protected the city from the mountains to the north. It was reconstructed with all the original materials after being almost destroyed during WWII and now only boasts a single-barrel vault. It was also slightly repositioned during reconstruction.
